The Love of a Mother

As I read through “They Called Us Enemy” I was often reminded of my mom. George Takei perfectly depicts the strong and unwavering love that a mother has for her children. As the unjust government was constantly trying to shove her down she would always stay alert and acted as a shield for her children. Even though my family does not go through the same situations as the Takei family, there are parts in the book that are a memento to the sacrifices that mothers make to keep their family going even through hard times. One example of this is when she takes up limited space in their bags when they are sent to the concentration camps to keep things like coloring books and small games to keep her children entertained. Small things like this are what make up big parts of being a great mother. Just the other day my mom let me eat the last piece of pizza that she was saving for herself. This seems like such a small courtesy but to me it means the world. I can think of many more instances like this but this was the most recent.
