My dog’s name is Suzie, we got Suzie when she was 2 on Halloween. We’ve had her for 9 years and over those years she has helped me face many of my challenges. Through elementary school, middle school, and now high school. I didn’t face many challenges growing up but it was always nice to come home to her with a wagging tail, getting to walk her around the neighborhood and even going to the park. In the last couple of years, she has started to get older. So she can’t do as much but even after middle school and now high school getting home she will always keep me company when I’m doing my homework or watching a TV show. Now she helps me with a lot of things. With the start of sophomore year, I realized this year wasn’t going to be as easy as freshman year. More homework more in-class work, harder classes, baseball practice, and weight room. Now while this is all managable, it’s harder to stay on top of. This is when getting to take her to Dog Beach or the park takes my mind off of the stress and management of school. She kind of works like a reset button and doing something simple like walking her clears my headspace to keep working. All in all I am very thankful for my dog Suzie.
