Ever since the 4th grade, I’ve loved creating stories. It was always an amazing process for me, I loved the creation of everything, how I could design everything from the very bottom and make an elaborate world. By all accounts, I was basically creating a whole universe, all just in my head.
That was the problem though, everything that I ever created was all simply in my head, I had nobody to talk to about it (except my parents who would let it in one ear and out the other) so that gave me a lot of time to create. I’d say that the moment I could finally talk to people about this was all the way into 6th grade, when I started meeting more people online who had the same amount of creativity as me, and letting me finally express some of my creations I’ve thought of. It was fun, being able to talk with some people about it also gave me the ability to add new creations I never thought of.

A collage of just a few of the many things that have inspired me. Some of the things I’ve taken are content, others character personalities, and some just some themes and atmosphere of my worlds.
Over time, my ideas grew and grew. At this point I have a whole universe, as big as the MCU, all inside my head. Recently, I had the idea of finally writing down things I’ve had in my mind. And so, I’ve begun writing a book. While I don’t have much time to work on it lately, it’s still been incredibly fun to finally put my storytelling to use. I won’t require you to ever read it, simply because it’s almost 40 pages and would simply take too long, but if you’re ever interested I try working on my current draft any point I can.
Being able to create helps me so much, my creations and stories are such an integral part of myself. One of my favorite parts of the process is sharing it with others. My partner and I share both our or worlds together all the time, talking about new things we’ve come up with recently. Since they’re an artist, they sometimes also help draw my characters allowing me to further imagine how I could create events that happen in my stories.

Creating stories is one of the funnest things you can do, and anybody can do it. It doesn’t have to be something big, maybe just a small story that takes place in your favorite favorite show or movie. You could work on creating stories that take place in the real world. Anything creative works, but if you’d like to, you could go above and beyond, and go onto creating worlds.
