A Rainy Day

“Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained.”

– Marie Curie

Lying on the bed on a rainy day, I stare at the ceiling while my mind races through the things I need to do today. My mind stops. I should really get going. Hopping out of bed, I feel my legs chained to a heavy weight as I walked to my desk. I sat down and stared at the wall while something slowly crept into my mind. My backpack isn’t here. Of course it isn’t.

As soon as I sat down with my backpack, I started my first challenge. The land of English is a notorious place, home to one of my worst enemies; writer’s block. In any writing assignment regardless of subject, it is always there. But there is a way to counter this and it is with a brainstorming template. With this mighty weapon, this assignment is no more. A new journey has started.

I found myself in the past. A world where things and events have already happened, a truly interesting place. Wandering around this place shows me how the world we live in now came to be. I’ve realized history is not bad, it’s just the English portion that I didn’t like. This new discovery gave me a key, hopefully to freedom.

Now it is time for the final challenge, math. This world of numbers, signs, and variables has been really easy to conquer, but has always been daunting. A long, but easy task indeed. After this, my mind would be cleared from stress.
