As a sophomore with almost all honors and AP classes and boatloads of homework to think about throughout the day, this can be very tiring for someone with a short attention span like me. Some things that help me learn are friendly competitions and physical activities. This reflects my learning style a lot and the sports I do. One class that I took in eighth grade was USHistory and the teacher did a lot of competitive activities that helped me learn the material quickly. Some things that get me through the week are my sports. I am a competitive gymnast and pole vaulter.

These are both very physical and competitive sports. I, for the most part, thrive in these sports and under these conditions, and they help me take my mind off of school because of how much concentration is needed while performing. Though these sports help a lot, they are also double-edged swords. I will often go 7 hours straight doing sports with small lunch breaks, and this is very tiring, so by the end of the day when I get home, I am extremely tired and I struggle to stay awake and sometimes crash. This is extremely bad because some of my teachers make assignments due at 11:59 PM the night they are assigned and these crashes sometimes make me late to finish the assignments. I am somewhat good at managing my time, so this rarely happens, but on the off occasions that it does happen, it substantially lowers my spirits. At the end of the day, my packed schedule adds twists and turns to the rollercoaster that people call high school.
