Starting it Off With a Bang

When COVID first came, I was bored out of my mind. School stopped for two weeks, my soccer was canceled, and my parents shed me from going out and talking to people. This meant staying home all day and everyday. In the beginning it was a little exciting, not having to go to school. But a couple weeks went by and the lock down was still on. I begged my parents to let me see my friends or at least go with them to the grocery store. But they didn’t let me because they didn’t want me to get my grandparents sick. I couldn’t believe how bored I was becoming. I knew I had to do something, anything just to be out and about. Anything to stay active for my sport. So I asked my mom if she could take me for a run. Even though she doesn’t run she agreed to go in the mornings because she could Rollerblade while I run. In the beginning I didn’t like it because I didn’t like running. But then I grew to like it. It was more than a run. It was a way out, an escape. I get to go out early in the morning and when the weather is nice and go for a jog.

Sometimes my mom will take me and my brother to the beach and I get to run right next to the ocean while they both ride. It’s such a nice way to start your morning. After going on runs in the morning my day becomes productive. It made my time go by fast. Now after COVID, when there isn’t school or on weekends, I go for runs to start my day and escape my anxiety. When I’m not chatting with my mom while running, I’m listening to music. Music can be very motivational while running. It can make the time go by much faster. Here is a great running playlist that has some very popular hits. I like to listen to most of the songs on this playlist when I’m exercising. Even if you don’t like running, there are many great ways to get out and have a productive start. Maybe it’s going for a walk, to the beach, to the park, getting breakfast with some friends. Whatever method you prefer can have a great impact on your life. Starting your morning with something active or fun is a great way to go into the day. After reading this, I hope you consider this method of surviving this thing called life.
