Originally I had something else chosen to write about but after Monday I decided to change my topic over to my dog. Now after reading that you’re probably thinking about what happened on Monday. Well it’s something that no one wants to deal with. Sadly my beloved pet Cash passed away on Monday September 18. I had a feeling that he wasn’t gonna make it too much longer, he wasn’t as thick as he should have been and he stopped eating so I knew something bad was going to happen. If only I could’ve known I would have given him the best day ever. After I had a good day of school I was driving home with my mom and she got this text from my grandpa saying he didn’t look too good. So when I got home I decided to go check on him. I found him laying down on the side of the house. When I saw him he looked up at me and if he could’ve smiled I’m sure he would have. I decided that he wasn’t looking too good, so I decided to get him water. He didn’t have enough strength to get up and get some water so I did what anyone would do and scoop the water with my hands. Hoping that he would drink some he did. I kept on giving him water by hand and eventually he got up to get some water. I tried to also give him some treats but he still wasn’t eating. I refill his water bowl and he is just lying down like how he originally was. He looked at me with a look of happiness and I can tell he was trying to fight what was happening. I gave him more water and started petting him, ensuring him that he was safe. I went in for a brief second to go get some good food from the kitchen. Gladly he ate some of that but then he stopped knowing that he wasn’t okay. I follow him as he takes some of his final steps into our shed that me, my dad and my grandpa built. He always loved to be in his shed, he would always try to steal treats or eat the bag of his food. I go in there with him and pet him. As he gave me one final look trying to tell me that he was going to a better place. I look back at him telling him that he’s been such a good boy and that he should go whenever he is ready. In that moment of us looking at each other he lays down and breaths his final breath. I knew at that moment that he was in a better place. I knew that he was gonna be happy playing and being safe. I knew that he was safe. He passed around 3:45 pm. He waited for me to come home and for me to spend his final moments with him where he could tell me he was safe.
