Road Block to Success

As I walk into science class pondering, “When will this all be over.” Sitting down in my seat my teacher approached us saying that our school might shut down for a couple of days due to a newfound virus called COVID-19. I thought,” YES, finally a break from school,” but I couldn’t be more wrong. Days became weeks, weeks became months, and now looking back 3 years have passed. Through social distancing, many bonds in friend groups were broken and many were created.

In the beginning, calling with friends was exciting and a new experience. Calling them all day without any worry of doing homework was very different. Calling for over 8 hours, friends became close friends. All the weight of the school and extra circulars fell off of my shoulders. Without a worry in my mind, I just kept moving forward. I couldn’t be more wrong though because a roadblock was approaching.

Waking up and repeating the same cycle was getting just, boring. The rush of dopamine slowly faded away and doing the same tasks just wasn’t working. There it was, a roadblock ahead, thinking as a group I proposed that we all meet up and play basketball while keeping our distance. Meeting up multiple times became a event to look forward too.

There it was again another roadblock, COVID-19 levels spiked up and were at an all-time high. The only source of joy was stripped away. Sitting on a call with friends, we all were thinking on what to do. One of us proposed to invite more people to get a refresh. Again we were able to overcome a rode block. We all got the sense of refresh we hopped and now all of us are as strong as we ever have. Through the hardship we were able to overcome many roadblocks to strengthen our bonds.

Even though roadblocks were presented, I was able to overcome them in many ways. With the help of many others, moving past obstacles were less challenging. Through the use of electronics communicating with friends became pleasing rather than difficult.
