How to know if your friends are trustworthy or not.

People aren’t what most people think they are. How would you know if your friend is a trustworthy person and they are not taking advantage of things they need to get ahead in life or just using you because they find it entertaining. It is also a good way to build up a good relationship. An example of this would be a line from Othello they specifically said a quote that said “after some time, to abuse othello’s ear. that he is too familiar with his wife.” This could be found on Line 438. This is showing Iago, who was the one abusing Othello’s ear, was telling the truth but also twisting the words to make it seem like he is a bit too close to his wife but he really isn’t. This is showing how Othello is overthinking about things and also feels distrust from his wife which can lead to many arguments. It may seem like Iago is a trustworthy person from Othello’s perspective, in reality he made Othello find out Cassio and Desdemona meeting privately . Othello believed it because Desdemona kept talking about Cassio and said that they had met one on one. They didn’t mention that it was to impress Othello because he can’t know.

They want Othello to understand Cassio is a Capable man so that he can be hired again. Then again Othello misunderstands the situation and starts accusing Desdemona and also gets really mad about it. The thing about finding someone trustworthy and a good friend is to actually understand them. What Othello is doing is not trusting Desdemona and also not even actually letting Desdemona share her side of the story and just arguing with her going back and forth. Examples like from here make it so you can find the traits of people and find out why they did this. In this source it had said that Othello had good skills and intelligence but then showed his anger and reflected upon him killing his wife and then regrets it because Iago who had been the root of all of this was a untrustworthy person he is a passive aggressive person by telling his own boss about things that are the truth but also a lie which lead Othello to misinterpret the situation causing him to have his downfall which a trait of a bad friend. Another example would be from the Mojave Phone Booth where there was a lone telebooth where you could receive random calls from around the world too. In conclusion a good example of a friend is where they will listen to you and understand and don’t care about the negative things about you and will be there for you at any time or just comfort you if you were to need it even if it was something pretty bad and personal. A good friend doesn’t really expect you to give something back to them even if they did something really good to you. That is how you would know if you had a trustworthy friend and they won’t take advantage of you by not caring about whether they receive something in return or not.
