Perfect Space

Daily writing prompt
You get to build your perfect space for reading and writing. What’s it like?

A perfect space for reading and writing, for me, is most likely not achievable. True perfect isn’t achievable in life. Yeah maybe I want too much. But maybe I know myself a lot. If I were to imagine where I would want to be, well, let me run wild.

Well… let’s start off by listing things that I like, or things that help me focus.

  • Tranquility
  • Nature
  • Art/Inspiration
  • Lighting (I’ll figure that out later)

Not much– but it can still be much deeper.

I like a lot of places– sunny places, cloudy places, green places, gray places, blue places… I just don’t really like busy places.

I’d like to be as far away from civilization or distraction as possible. Somewhere in the mountains, woods, lakes, jungles… however that is just a fantasy. There would be no internet to write online out there, haha. I think it is really just the peace and quiet, and also the inspiration and color that nature is filled with.

I would like to say hi to a squirrel passing by, or a crow stopping around, occasionally while I am reading or writing. Would be nice to have the smell of flowers and wind in the air. Would be nice to take a break, sit in the open, enjoy my surroundings and write about it.

Natural light would work too, but I like dim or gray skies, because it isn’t very common where I am from. But it could be sunny, and I could write happy things.

I think a nice spot in nature will determine what I write about no matter what, whether it be cheerful pieces, gloomy pieces. Nature is ever-changing, and so is my mood. It would be perfect for writing about different things at different times.

Image I took in Alaska. Forgot where.
