Clingy Siblings

I am the oldest of five children in my family. Most of the time I like having all of my siblings, but sometimes they get too attached to playing with me. I just want to do whatever I want but some of my younger siblings always follow me around, even if I ask them not to.
Recently I wanted to go hang out with my friends at night. My parents were perfectly fine with this and I was about to go when one of my siblings started yelling and crying at me. They wanted to go too even though they are 5 years younger than me and have completely different friends. I told them that they couldn’t and they became even more agitated. The situation was at a point where my parents had to step in and take care of my sibling. I eventually got to go out but my parents were somewhat mad because that sibling ended up making the night for the rest of my family miserable.
Friends Help Us Have Good Days
A couple of years ago spring break had just begun. It was Monday and I was extremely bored. I was just sitting on my couch at home and doing nothing. I was sure it would be my worst spring break yet. The next day however, I texted three of my friends if they wanted to hang out. They all could and we went mountain biking in Crystal Cove.
Everyone had a great time while mountain biking but when we got home, we wanted to do more fun stuff. We rode our bikes to In-N-Out and all got big burgers because we were starving. I was as hungry as an elephant, so got a Double-Double animal style, fries, and a vanilla shake. It was such a fun time just messing around on our bikes. It ended up getting dark, and we all had to go home.
Even though we were home, it didn’t mean that we were going to stop planning to hang out. We all decided to go to my friend’s house to watch “A Quiet Place”. We had a great time that day, but the fun didn’t stop there. For the rest of spring break, nearly every day we did more fun things together. Through friends, I was able to have the best spring break of my life to this day.
Don’t judge a book by its cover
When I was younger I would not eat certain foods. Especially the foods that looked either gross or weird. After a long time of seeing others eat and enjoy these foods, I was confused. I didn’t know why they would possibly want to torture themselves by eating these “nasty” foods. One day I decided I would try one of these foods. A spam musubi. Seeing it made me sick to my stomach. I grabbed it and slowly put it into my mouth. I took the first bite, and it was delicious! I kept on taking more and more bites until it was quickly gone. I ate a couple more that day and it started a change in my mind. I began exploring new foods more and more. onions, avocado, and sushi have all become things I like dearly to this day.
Fighting Just Makes Things Worse
I have a lot of kids in my family. As siblings, we spend a lot of time playing with each other and running around. As you can assume, we don’t always get along.
We fight about many things.
The tv remote.
Who gets the first pick of cake.
And so much more.
I have two younger brothers who are very close in age. Most of the time they get along extremely well. However, they do have their ups and downs. When they fight each other it can get pretty bad. They yell and scream at each other, calling each other gruesome names. If one of my parents or another sibling doesn’t help break it up, it can get even worse. Both of them are pretty adept at hurting each other as well. On days when they fight, our family is in disarray and it makes the whole day bad. It is always better when they don’t fight.
Find the Good
I had a volleyball tournament a couple months ago. It was three days long and the third day was finals. On the first two days we won all of our games. We were playing super well and thought we were going to win the entire tournament. On the last day, if you lose you are out. My team won our first two games, putting us in the semifinals. It was a close game, however we lost, eliminating us from the tournament. Everyone on my team was super bummed. I had to drive home and got there at around five o’clock. The next day, I had a massive test in chemistry that I was not very prepared for. Thankfully I had enough time to study and get a decent grade on it. After the test, I realized that if my team had won and made it to the championship, I wouldn’t have had time to study. I was able to find the good in the bad.
