Leap of Faith
It was a bright and early morning in Sardinia, Italy. It was our second vacation to Italy, and it felt better than ever. Sardinia had been my favorite spot in Italy at the time, and it stayed that way after an amazing day of cliff jumping. We headed to the arch that stood at a whopping 50 feet tall. I was extremely scared and started by jumping off the smaller part of the arch at about 20 feet. I gained confidence as I saw my friends encouraging me to step up a be brave. I walked up to the top of the arch. My sister, my friend Anthony, my friend Vincent, and I all decided we would jump together. It was a leap of faith. We jumped, and I had no regrets. This jump made me realize I can do anything, I just have to be brave.

The Old Christmas
When I was younger, Christmas used to feel different. It felt like Christmas… not just another day where we wake up and happen to open up presents under the tree. It felt like Christmas. The days when Santa was real. The days when we would put milk and cookies on the table, and the next morning the cookies would be left with big crumbs, and the milk was finished. Now, I have grown up. Christmas does not feel the same anymore. I don’t feel as happy as I used to and I don’t get the Christmas spirit I used to get. I want to experience Christmas as a real kid again. I want Christmas back, not December 25th.

The Cabin in Arrowhead
Arrowhead is a place we don’t live in but often visit. Many memories have been made throughout the years of visiting the cabin. My cousins and I love to go outside and play in the snow in the winter. After playing in the snow our toes and fingers start to freeze. We get back inside, take our gloves off, and immediately gather by the fire while we blow warm air from our mouths to our hands. We don’t get this opportunity to go to the cabin much, but when we do, we make the most of it.

Fun in The Neighborhood
“Good morning Mom,” is what I say as I get out of bed and walk into the kitchen. “Good morning honey,” she says. It is officially the first day of summer and I now have all the freedom in the world to do whatever I want. I walked outside and was greeted with the feeling of the warm sun, as I looked across the street and saw the odd man picking at every weed in his grass, making sure it looked perfect. I went over to Troy’s house. My favorite house. The house where I experience many memories. I knocked on his door and asked him what he wanted to do today. He wanted to play basketball. Of course, he did. Troy was the best basketball player I knew, and he loved playing it. We invited Ranen, Malachi, and McKennon over as well to play. It was the best first day of summer and a great start to the day. Little did we know, it was the last summer we had all together.

It Was Just Another Day
It was just another day, as we were nearing the end of summer. Although it was sad, we wanted to make the most of it. It all started when we were sitting outside of Malachi and Mckennon’s house. There had always been a cumquat tree that sat perfectly on the next-door neighbor’s lawn. Cumquats…yum. They were my favorite, and I rarely found them at any stores. I always asked my mom if she could get cumquats for me to eat, but they were too hard to find. This was my time to shine. The first time I had ever probably broken the law. Malachi and I both stepped foot off the concrete and into the street. We took a peek inside the neighbor’s house to make sure their blinds were closed, and sure enough they were. We slowly walked to the cumquat tree which smelled of delicious citrus goodness. I reached my hand up and grabbed one. I immediately put it in my mouth and it was as if I found my soulmate. They were so delicious. We grabbed a bunch for everyone and sat down to eat them back at Malachi’s house. Little did we know, the Honda Civic that turned the corner was the car to the neighbor’s house. “Where’d you guys get those!?”
