“If you ever want to know how it feels to hold the power of creation within your palms, try picking up a pencil.”
ThatDoodNathan
For a little bit of context, all of the stories here are character descriptions of characters within my working story Neon. For now, all of these stories are canon to my show but can be subject to change.
Ego

“What can I say, I’m getting too good at saving the world. It can’t even handle me!”
Jackie “Kyushu” Lite
Jackie floated back down to the ground, defeating the enemy but leaving a big wake of damage behind. His confident smirk didn’t feel very deserved when seen by the civilians, as although his efforts to protect the city of Basecoat were very much appreciated, he did it with a massive ego that felt like shouldn’t be fed by praising him. Even his own teammates seemed to be completely done with what he did. And the worst part of all, he doesn’t even know that he’s doing the wrong thing.
Trapped

“The way they look at me, I just feel like I’m letting them down,”
Nathan Ima
Nathan never really liked interacting with people, but he did like making others happy. That is why he feels conflicted within his own mind. He always yearns to be able to talk to people like everyone else, but he never feels good doing so, as if every cell in his body screams to hide away from confrontation, but he also can’t help the feeling of absolute joy he gets when he can put a smile on someone’s face or when he can make someone’s day just that tiny bit better. He yearns for that day when he can finally break out of his mental prison, the prison that he trapped himself within.
Pushed To The Edge

“One day, I’ll leave this team. All of us will. And I know for a fact you wouldn’t notice. Wanna know why? Cause your ego will be right there to convince you that you were never wrong.”
Slath
One can only handle so much garbage in their lives, and when they are pushed to their edge, who knows what would happen. This could change good-natured people into easily irritated grouches. This is what happened to Slath. He tried, he really tried to control himself when it came to Jackie. He had so much hope that Jackie wouldn’t stay as the self-absorbed jerk he started out as. He convinced himself that it would end soon and that he was just being stingy for no reason. But it didn’t stop. The recklessness, the constant bragging, the unfair scolding. He couldn’t do it anymore. He was done with being hopeful. He was truly pushed to the edge.
A Change In Mood

“Words can’t described how horrible you are, they are too disgusted from being used in relation to you!”
Teknic Kolor
TK never liked talking. For most of his childhood and adolescence he was completely mute, say for when he was learning to speak for school. He also wasn’t one to show his emotions or show anything really. He was the embodiment of show not tell. But people are prone to change, and unfortunately, TK was no exception. Thanks to Jackie’s influence, TK’s demeanor changed from calm and quiet, to something more sour. After days and days of belittlement and neglect, he became angry. Really angry. So angry that words were able to come out of his mouth. But even now, with this mood change, Jackie ignores it and continues to be oblivious of the signs.
Trying His Best

“Guys, give the kid some slack. He can’t know that he’s doing wrong. I insist.”
Unta “The Bull Thing” Mo
Unta wasn’t built for this. Taking care of a 20 something year old that needed attention like a 2 year old. It wasn’t part of his expectations when joining the group, but what the heck. He was here now, so might as well try. And try he did. He looked after the kid, made sure he didn’t step out of line. He stood up for him when TK and Slath were on his rocker. He didn’t know what he was doing half the time, but he did know that he didn’t want the teem to crumble into chaos. He didn’t even know if he was doing a good job, but to put his mind at ease, he reminded himself that he was trying his best.
This is just a small part of the story, but I won’t spoil any more for now. Hope you enjoyed!
