Teenage Battles
It’s a monday and I am lying comfortably in the place I cherish the most. I am safe and I am sound, nothing can hurt me here, not the cat, not the family, or the hound. This haven is loved by many where things shut off and cool down after a long overload when steam explodes through every hole in your face, it is like a fountain of youth where you can feel young again and free. Every fiber and muscle is relaxed after the whole day of, “ITS BURNS” and “OH MY GOD MAKE IT STOP!”. Every day I am forced and stripped away from this wonderful place by a monster named “School” with his partner in crime, Responsibilities. They even follow me home. After a long day at school and practice, School sends his annoying little brother Homework who pulls on my hair when I am so close to my cave. When I am home, occasionally someone spikes my water with a poison called “Procrastination” which has a cure but I always decide that I’ll drink it later. After a long day of, “This lesson is boring,”, “What time does this period end?”, “ Everything is sore and it hurts so much”, and “When is this going to end?”. I have finally gotten through and won the day without any regrets and I can return to my place of safety named the bed. But I won the battle, not the war, tomorrow I will get up and battle the monsters again every day until the hero “Summer” returns.

The Match
Cheering, Screaming, Roaring, and Yelling all in one small gymnasium with a light shining on one mat. A Duel. The last duel of the season against Los Alamitos High School. He has never wrestled in front of a crowd, especially a crowd with former teammates and families of the community, This is a big one for him. They all have come to this small gymnasium to watch him wrestle, all eyes are on him now. Things start slow and slowly start to heat up, muscles tense up, sweat drips, and arms fly. The opponent is down, and he will lose if he lets him up, He picks him up and a loud pop comes from his knee. He thinks nothing of it as pops are normal but it felt different. He gets back up but his legs feel off and then . . . everything collapses and falls to the mat, unable to get back up. Time is slower and the loud noises become faint all he can hear is the sound of his breath. His coach and his mom rush to him. He tore his ACL in front of this large crowd of many families in this small gymnasium. This moment changed everything for me.

My Dog
My dad complains about the dog being very dumb and able to pee outside the house and always on the carpet. My Grandpa was a very super smart scientist and made a device that made him have the consciousness and brains of a normal human being. I love my dog though and treat him as if he was my own kid.
“What’s that on his head?” I asked.
“A smartation device, It makes him smarter and able to think”.
I scratch my head and wonder what my dog will be able to be capable of.
“Also there is a crank to make him smarter, maybe even smarter than me.” My grandpa said.
I woke up that morning to my dog enslaving my parents and my grandpa nowhere to be found.
“Oh, you woke up”. He said
“I plan to enslave your parents, mainly your father who did nothing but shout insults at me and locked me outside when I peed on the carpet.”
I was like, “No you can’t do that he’s my father! Of course, he treated you wrong and insulted you and made you sleep outside and drink your pee and used you as a feet rest; but that is not a reason to enslave him.
My parents just looked at me.
My grandpa comes in with a blast ray and shoots my dog’s head and he faints.
“OH MY GOD WHY DID YOU SHOOT MY DOG!”. I scream
“I only temporarily knocked him out he’ll be back to normal in a couple of hours”. He said
A couple hours later my dog wakes up and pees on the carpet. My dog is back to normal. But im scared of what he is thinking inside of that normal dog brain of his.

Joe
Joe wants to go outside and do homework and study for his final, but he has wrestling practice. Joe wants to hang out with his girlfriend who is free on Friday or Saturday, but Joe has a tournament on those dates. Joe wants to eat whatever he wants without a care in the world, but Joe is over 3 pounds in his weight class. Joe wants to try a new wrestling move he watched on TikTok, but it’s conditioning day. Joe is doing everything correctly and listening to the coach’s instructions, but someone doesn’t know the coach is making them run extra. Joe is exhausted after practice he just wants to sleep, and he has homework waiting for him in his backpack. Joe finally gets a weekend off but, he has to study for finals, Joe gets days off of practice to do whatever he wants, but Joe gets sick.

Ghosts
My Father told me a story of a group of soldiers who were deployed in Iran to protect a hospital that was being threatened by terrorist groups. As they landed they spent weeks there, day by day allies would drop and they were starting to be outnumbered. The Captain makes a choice his best man escorts each patient and civilian outside of the hospital to a safe place where they wouldn’t be harmed. The rest of the team stayed and waited using the camouflage of their fallen brothers and the darkness of the night. As the terrorists came in they used stealth techniques to take out every single one of them. If their ammo ran out, they used their knives, if their knives went dull, they used their fists, if their fists were broken, they used their teeth. There was only one survivor of the terrorist group. He described it as something that was only supernatural, he called them, Ghosts.
