“Ike Pono Friends”
Sunday morning, today was the day. It was gonna be a fun day, not only was I going to be able to hang out with my friends, but also do it for a good cause. Angels Stadium is a special place for the diabetes walk. The time comes, all of the friends, or should I say the Evangers. What a fun time it was to catch up with the people that I normally only see once a week and honestly just talk. The walk was very fun too and the best part about the walk was that we were able to be on the jumbotron. Then lunchtime came. Golden Road Brewery. This place was awesome, not just for the food but for the time we had playing UNO and even talking some fantasy hockey to some of my friends.
Christmas Party
December 9th, 2023. One I’ll never forget. It was the Christmas party with the homies and as soon as Brandon and I arrived, Elemental was on honestly for the next 10 minutes we were kind of deciding on what to do. We ended up deciding on Super Smash Bros and played that for the next 45 minutes. The best part about that was when everyone was playing someone random and especially with 8 people it was even more chaotic. Then dinner came, wow it was scrumptious. It was kind of a mix of udon and ramen but it wasn’t Japanese. After that we kinda didn’t know what to do so we went to the chinchilla room. I was kind of allergic so Nathan and I just ended up playing pool while everyone else was playing with the guinea pigs and the chinchillas. After that, we just ended up playing Super Smash Bros and this time we all ended up being Kirby just for the fun of it. After it was all said and done, I ended up going home with Brandon and Kira and we kinda were just talking about school with each other. The three of us kinda just talked about how our schools are different since they both go to Edison. Once I got home I ended up working out a bit and went to bed.
Golf with the Boys:
Saturday afternoon is the perfect weather for golf. It was about 70, with no wind, no clouds in sight, the perfect conditions so I decided to call my friends to ask them if they wanted to play a round. This time would be different though. This time we decided to play a little game that forced us to play well. Why? Well because we all put money on the line it wasn’t much but we all put $5 in the bowl. The winner would get 10 bucks, the second place would just get 5 back and the loser would get nothing back, so they would basically give the person that wins an extra 5 dollars. The funny thing about this was that the last time I played on the course, I played so bad that I just stopped keeping score at one point and somehow, this was one of the best rounds of golf that I’ve ever played in my life. I ended up telling my mom about the game and how I won and she told me that I should just end up playing like money is always on the line. After that ended, a couple of the guys and I ended up going back to the middle of the course and just went golf ball hunting. I ended up finding about 25 golf balls which was amazing.
S’mores & Chem
I’d never think that I’d do this but my 4 friends and I were able to make s’mores in class. This was by far the most fun that I’ve ever had in Chem Comm class because normally the labs aren’t this fun. A bonus was that it actually helped me understand Stoichiometry because during the homework I was mad confused and even during the note-taking I was just lost. Normally when we do notes, after 1 practice problem, I usually have a general understanding of what’s going on. But with this, I was able to understand. Another bonus, I was able to do decently on my exam which was based on Stoichiometry. The best part was when Mr. Lee used his lighter to create a giant fire to roast the marshmallows.
Fall Fest 2023
This was the first time ever going to fall, let alone helping my club out. Well, we weren’t actually trying to raise money, our main goal was evangelism. We want to be able to spread the gospel to the rest of the school because I’m willing to bet more than 90% of the school doesn’t know who Jesus is. It was honestly pretty fun because we not only got to share the gospel but we were also able to relate to a lot of the answers people gave during the survey. After we were done cleaning up our tent and other stuff, Uly and I just started to wander off and kind of just play games with each other. I’d say Fall Fest was a major success at not only evangelizing to others but I’d say Uly and I got closer as friends.
