My Mom and I
When I was a kid my earliest memory of myself was me falling into my koi fish pond at the back of my old house. I loved the house. My family and I loved it. But, my parents decided that the area we lived in back then was not safe at all. And my mom was pregnant with my younger sister. My parents said we needed a house bigger than the one we had. I have 3 sisters and one brother. I am the oldest child of five. One time me and my mom and were gonna go on a road trip she brings my little sister along. I did not want to go but it is okay. Ever since then, my parents pay more attention to themselves, each other, and the younger siblings. Me and my mom are still close. But. My mom and I both miss the old times when we used to spend time together. No devices. Just my mom and I.
The Color Blue
Song: Blue Hair by TV Girl
There’s really no way of winning
Standing in front of her, awaiting her answer. The sky was a glimmering blue, the trees swayed to a soft rhythm.
In their eyes you’ll always be a dumb blonde
The wind blew her hair, but her clips held her bangs back as she read the letter. She just stared with those sad blue eyes. Her lips shaped words that stabbed a heart while looking as beautiful and sorrowful as ever.
And she cried over nothing
The door remain locked and unopened. The door that could’ve opened to a bright future.
So there was nothing I could do to stop her from cutting
And suddenly that glimmering blue sky grew dim, and rain fell. All thoughts that could be thought were her words. “I’m sorry. If only you were born in a different body.”
to stop her from cutting her beautiful black hair off.
The Old Lady Next To My House
When I had just moved into my house, there was this old lady who welcomed us warmly. She brought us cookies and food. I didn’t know her that well. The kids in my neighborhood went to my school, and when I talked to them, they told me that the old lady was a snobby old woman who was entitled and didn’t think of anything other than herself. We were riding our bikes around the front yard one day. The kids ran over one of her sprinklers and the old lady came out and yelled. After she went back inside, the kids yelled profanities at her house, the words bouncing off the walls. I feel terrible for her, she was nice to me. I never knew her that well, but the kids in the neighborhood despised her. A few years later, I moved away. I moved to a smaller house because we didn’t have money. The lady bid us farewell.
I don’t know if Imma see you again
You’re the one who’s always running through my daydream, I
He lay in bed, eyes wide open, sleep not being able to catch him. The love of his life next to him sleeping soundly, having given up to the gentle embrace of the night.
I can only see your face when I close my eyes
Her quiet snores being the only sound filling the room. His eyes wandered from her to the ceiling.
Can I get a kiss?
His day with her running through his mind. Over. And over again. All he could think about was her.
And can you make it last forever?
He thought about the future they could have together, the future he wanted to build with only her. Anyone, any stranger, any person that walked the Earth, that saw the way he was acting could easily tell he was in love. Deeply, deeply in love.
I said I’m bout to go to war.
As soon as it left, the sunrise came. He hadn’t slept a wink. He’d been unable to. He got up and got ready. He wrote a lovely note for her. He left the house as quiet as a mouse. Not without giving her a kiss. A lovely kiss for a lovely girl, he said. And disappeared into the morning sun.
And I don’t know if imma see you again
Late Night Drive
Song: Lovers Rock by TV Girl
But if you’re too drunk to drive
The car sped through the empty road. The city lights flying by as the two sat in comfortable silence.
And the music is right
It was unusual to see the man in the passenger seat.
She might let you stay
But he had no other choice. The music softly playing in the background as he focused on her. Her eyes focused on the road.
But just for the night
She drove around in circles, the only thing the two wanted was air. Circles around her neighborhood.
And if she grabs for your hand
She gave up and pulled into her driveway, and let out a long sigh.
And drags you along
He followed her willingly, staring at her so fondly.
She might want a kiss
And so, the two found each other dancing in the living room, smiling and laughing like nothing else mattered in the world. He dipped her and they got lost in each other’s eyes. And he gave her a loving kiss.
By the end of the song
And the song ended.
