The Clock Moves Forward

“One day all men, women, and children will be freed from labor”
“We triumph over the arduous tasks that have taken the lives of so many people”
“We will once again have time to spend with our love ones, have time to do the things we love”
“Humanity will BE FREE”
It was during my great grandparents time when these words were echoed. To this day humanity is still waiting for the scientists, engineers, and government to fulfill their promises from long long ago. I don’t really care about this liberation stuff, life as it is is fine, I feel as though we shouldn’t be pouring so much effort into a project that spans generations, at that point it’s a waste. As I grew older and older no progress has been made on the project, but the people continued to wait and wait until their bones withered, the common folk had waited for someone else to liberate them, they never once tried to aid the project, they wanted the completion of the project soon, but refused to help pay for it. They refused to aid the engineers in creating, they had simply waited, and now they are dust.
Drill

One day I was walking the cold streets of London, It was during the Christmas season, I was going to buy a toy for my nephew. The streets were filled with people having the same thoughts as me I could barely walk an inch before stoping, eventually I stopped a store window where they displayed a toy drill. I was then transported to another world, In my hand was that very drill that I just saw.
“You, the one with the drill what are you waiting for, get back to the mines and start mining for diamonds, you don’t want your wife and children to starve now do you.”
“Y-Yes, boss”
I listened to the person, for fear that they would come and discipline me. I followed my fellow miners to the mines and started mining with my drill, I found all types of riches, diamonds, gold, and quartz. I returned to the surface to show my boss. Good, they said you deposit half here and return to your wife and children. I returned home and opened the door, I was back at the store window.
“You know what, I’m buying this for myself.”
Green Hills, Red Sky
“Damian, what are we to do, our daughter’s birthday is coming up and you have still yet to buy or plan her party.”
“All is fine Dina, now would you like to sit and have tea with me it’s been quite a while since we last sat and talked over tea,”
“Fine,”
Damian went off to the kitchen to brew some black tea, he poured black tea leafs in the china and then hot water, After a while the tea was ready.
“Tea’s ready, would you like, milk with it, Dina?”
“Milk and sugar”
“Alright”
Damian then brought the tea to Dina. The two proceeded to sit and chat.
“Its a lovely day isn’t it Dina? I remember when I was a kid I would run across those green hills over and over again till the sky turned red.”
“Truly it is a lovely day, but back to the point Damian our daughter is about to turn 5, I want to throw her a big party, we need to start planning now.”
“Dina, its in one month we have plenty of time, it best not to worry about all this now, I’ve seen how late you stay up to plan this party, But how about we just live in the moment? It’s a lovely day why not enjoy it, better than sitting at a desk all day long.”

The daughter dugs her father tight, “But I want to see her now” she begins to sob
The father comforts her, she then falls asleep. When he sees that shes asleep he begins to let it all outs
“Why, Why, Why”
You said you were going to change the world how are you going to do that six feet under?
He begins to hold his hand in his hands. Suddenly he feel small arms warp around him.
“It’s all right daddy, you said we’ll meet her again, and we can meet her again, right now in our daughters and memories, she’s still there.”
Endless Wait

I didn’t grow up with much, but I grew up with hope, hope that someday a change would occur. I grew up with my whole family: my grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, and parents. My room was shared between me and my cousins, it was a small space but it did the job well. There wasn’t always much food on the table, sometimes I would’ve had to share with my cousins. However, as I grew up people would always tell me, have hope that things will change. I’ve listened, and am still waiting for a change: I’ve waited for over fifteen years, even though I’ve moved, and the situation has gotten better, that doesn’t mean every situation will get better, so I’m still waiting, still clinging on to this hope that all things will get better. What other choice do I have, all I can do is wait.
Magnum Opus

I am the son of an engineer, from a young age I’ve been taught the concept of creation, my mother would always teach me how to build complex machinery. However, I never found these machinery to be a thing of beauty, it was a man made thing that carried no natural beauty. So when I grew up I decided to become someone to capture a beauty that can not be made; I decided to become an artist to capture beauty. It was hard and tedious work but eventually I became an excellent artist able to fully capture nature, but that was it I could only recreate what I saw I couldn’t capture nature’s beauty. My best piece is a piece I call the sea of snow. I depicted the beauty of the second tallest mountain in the world, K2. As I was painting the mountain I poured every emotion I thought the mountain fell into. In the painting there is authority, anger, peace, and happiness. Upon finishing the sea of snow I’ve gotten offers for it.
One million, one man offred
5 million offered another
But, I could never sell this piece because it is my magnum opus. No amount of money would be able to match its value, for the very concept of beauty is etched into the canvas.
