“The Jefferson family”
Back then there was a family. The Jefferson family. They faced many challenges in life but were always able to overcome them. The Jefferson family had just moved into their new neighborhood after starting a very successful electronic business. Except the neighborhood they moved into. They were different. People didn’t welcome them in. Or even acknowledge them when going out. That didn’t seem to bother the family, as they opened one of there newer shops just down the street.
Weeks went on and that location seemed to struggle. The people knew that the store was owned by the Jefferson’s. But that couldn’t be the reason they struggled in business? Could it? No. That’s what they told themselves as time went on. Tried getting to know the neighbors, ignored. Tried helping people around the neighborhood, ignored. They were running out of ways to try and get to know the people in the neighbrohood and be cool with them. But they had one last idea, they set up signs around the neighborhood saying they were going to be hosting a huge dinner at there house.
The day of the dinner everybody in the neighborhood showed up not saying anything. No thank you’s or pleases. Everyone was silent, walked in got their food and left. The Jeffersons were stunned. They couldn’t believe it. What could they have possibly done to be treated this way. Eventually Christmas time came around. They started dropping presents off to their neighbors houses. Presents of money. And thats when BOOM! All the people receiving gifts started to acknowledge the Jeffersons and invite them to stuff add in them in conversations and start to treat them like friends.
Time went on and the Jefferson’s started to feel relief as they started to be engaged with the neighborhood. But then one day Nozama bought the Jefferson’s company. Leaving the Jefferson’s bankrupt. Not being able to pay bills or produce any form of money the Jefferson’s almost seemed to get exiled. Once again nobody in the nieghborhood reached out or even remotely tried to help the poor family. That’s when the Jerfferson’s relazied. It was all because money.
“Nick the Homeless Fella”
Nick was a 30 year old man who was living on the streets of chicago illinois. He hadn’t really had much opportunity once his wife died. His business collapsed and with recent record he didn’t feel like he would be accepted by any job.
It’s been six years now and Nick is still living homeless. He liked the adventures and still managed to eat and rinks something everyday. He was still determined to fix his life but had no motivation. That’s when he ran into his cousin Devin at the farmers market one day. Nick hadn’t really came into contact with any family members really with all them living up North in michigan. After watching up for about 30 minutes Devin brings up that he is getting married in two weeks and that Nick is more than welcome to come.
Once Devin leaves and Nick heads back to the bridge he has been sleeping under he thinks. Thinks and thinks about whether to go or not. A bus ticket wouldn’t cost that much. He is determined. This is the starting point.
A week goes on and Nick has gotten a ride from Illinois to Michigan. Now with his bag and ripped up clothes he makes his way to Ann Arbor. Walking through town he gets emotional as he remebers all the memories he used to spend here. Going to the college football michigan games, the baseball and even basketball games. He misses it.
The day of the wedding Nick is insecure of not having the best clothing but he shows up to the wedding to see all of his family he hasn’t seen in years. He catches up with everyone and gets offered a job from his second uncle to work in business and finance all the way back west in california. He is in shock one opportunity that he was scared of taking could change his life for the better.
Flashforward 10 years Nick just turned 40 has a wife and kids, living in a nice multi-million dollar home on Hollywood Boulevard. Nick looks back and can’t thank the opportunity from his cousin and uncle enough.
“Starting Fresh”
Starting over. Some may think its hard. But for me its easy. Im happy I got to get away start over and get the start at the good school I wanted. Not knowing anyone. No rumors. And especially no drama. This school was for the intelligent kids. So they are more focused on education and getting a scholarship for college. They know fighting and drama isn’t worth anything. It was almost a second home. It was my home. My parents did a lot for me to get into this school. They both work full time jobs to afford my education there. With that we don’t have the greatest of homes but at least they try thats all that matters. Thats why I take my opportunity to make the best of it. I have a 5.0 GPA and have scholarhsips from most ivy league schools. School feels like my home. I always think back and think if I never got out of that old school and took a chance I would never have the opportunities I am blessed with today. And it is all because of determination and confidence.
“The House Nobody Ever Wants”
Every summer every year for the last couple of centuries families come down to Lake Homestead and pick the house they are going to stay at for the summer. There are 31 houses on the lake and there are always 30 families on the list. The family that puts in the most money gets first picks on what house they want to stay in and so on and so forth. For the 3-4 month period the family can do whatever they want to the house they get but it has to be in the money range in however much they put in.
Many years ago someone took that to an extent and had a huge bonfire with everybody on the lake at one house and it caught on fire and burnt down. This house was by far the best it had the best view to the mountains, close to the public bathrooms and showers it also had the best spot closest to the lake. It almost looked as if the house had feelings each year getting older almost looking sadder like someone being taken from you getting further and further away. Little did they know that house had a chance of being better than any other house on the lake. All it needed was one chance.
“The Trapped Boy”
Trevor. Trevor was the most popular kid in high school. He was the star of the football team. Got attention. And was idled as the school’s best. He never faced any trouble mainly because everybody was either scared of him or his friend. He could do about anything and get away with it. Everybody was always on his side, even though he did so much that could get him kicked out of school and possibly sent to jail. He was always had other people on his side to back him up. He was a bad kid he picked on people, stole people’s stuff, and made people do his homework. He was the average high school jock. That was until one day reality snapped for everyone else around him. They realized they treated him like some king or god. All his friend were fed up with it. It had almsot been three years.
Couple weeks went by and stuff started to flood ouyt about Trevor, exposing him in everyway possible. He was immediately expelled from school and grounded from everything. Just like that the person who practically ran the school campus was trapped inside his room 7 days a week for 24 hours a day. His life was now like a forgotten cd in case. Trapped. Labeled. Forgotten. Nobody respected him or checked on him. People say he got what he deserved
