When they hear that question many people will automatically answer with age. However, is that true? Does wisdom come from you being 80, or the experiences you’ve had in those 80 years? Wisdom is not easily gained by becoming a new age. You don’t turn 50 and automatically gain more wisdom.
It comes from experiences, not age. You don’t need to be old to have wisdom. All you need is experience. Soldiers may seem young going into war, however when they come back 2-3 years later they are different people. They saw many things and gained whole new levels of experiences that even many older people haven’t.
On the opposite view, many children struggle with this. They overlook their parents’ guidance, and can sometimes be too stubborn to see when they are wrong. Thinkers ask…
Are adults more experienced and therefore know more than kids?
Every kid will ponder this question and come up with a detailed response to why adults don’t know more than children. That’s their stubborn side. They fail to understand that their parents have lived a similar life. Parents/adults have had many failures and have learned from their mistakes.
It is crucial to listen to your parents! Even though you might not think so, your parents were once young. They were once trying to be cool or popular in high school. They have bombed (failed) a test before. They know what you’re going through! Even though life is stressful and you don’t like what your parents are telling you to do, they are trying to help you. They have picked up some wisdom from all their experiences and are letting you use it. Soak it up! One day you will need to make decisions on your own, with your own experiences, so better make the extra wisdom from your parents count!
