Throughout my life, I have learned about multiple leaders. Hitler, Trump, Biden, and more all have been in power and controlled a population at some point. Every ruler and leader differs from the next and I have always been fascinated by how they do so. How can the people in charge control the less fortunate?
A war can either make or break a country. For Germany, WWI resulted in power being completely stripped away while the US, France, and the UK laughed at its demise. Russia after the war realized it was a backward country and it needed industrialization. Russia took on a new leader, Stanlin, who was a communist who had no interest in going into an industrialization phase. He planned to go straight into communism.
Stanlin had a five-year plan that claimed that every five years a new industrial life-changing item would be implemented and used throughout Russia. This looked great on paper for Russia, as many other countries would visit these new industrial items slowly integrated into Russia and applauded this success, but at the roots, this was not a good thing. With this fast industrialization, a new labor force was created. They were under strict productivity requirements and if they didn’t meet those requirements, they were sent to a gulag. A gulag was a Siberian labor camp, and the labor class would be sent there for a multitude of reasons. Some would be forced to spend a ten-year sentence just for being a few minutes late for work. Others couldn’t meet the productivity requirement for that day, resulting in the gulag.
Russia also had many other leaders around this time like Lenin and Leon Trotsky who had supporters all in Russia. This was not liked by Stanlin, and Stanlin used propaganda to control the Russian population into believing that all other leaders were traitors and imperialist powers.
Stanlin had total control over Russia, similar to Hitler, and had ways of controlling to get what he wanted. This control arose abuse, power, and money, being the main goals for Stanlin. Stanlin like other leaders learned to control a population and manipulate the less fortunate.
