Why is it that people are able to justify themselves with lies? That’s how people see others that are fighting against their cause. Both people are on two different sides with the mindset that the other one is wrong and they’re right. The lies of the both sides are mixed together to create a conflict and a way to justify their actions. While one side might be right, they both have lies mixed into it, to make people want to fight, to protest, to be angry at the other side. In general, many of the wars use people’s emotions and feed them lies to hate the other group or that they are worse off if they don’t fight. They justify it by saying that they aren’t doing as much work as the people that go into the front line and fight for the country. They romanticize it to make it feel true and that they should be out there fighting because they were told that they should. That’s enough to justify why they should attack towns and cities because they’re “the root source of evil” or that it would allow the war to end sooner. While some wars are inevitable, both sides have people that believe that they are right.
While this is no means of saying that we should forgive about what happened in these wars, certain things should be taken into consideration. The people in charge, whether they’re controlling from behind the scenes or know what they’re doing, are the ones that help justify the actions that their citizens take. The people bear the brunt of the war because they are forced by the lies to take part in the war. Some take advantage of the lies to kill and others are following because they think that they’re right. In the end the one that loses has their lies revealed and everyone has to deal with it, not just the people in power. The other side considered themselves the truth and that what they were doing is for the greater good, but both sides remain with their own view of the war.
There may be a truth, but with how deep it may be, it might seem like another lie. For all lies become true when there’s enough people following them and the truth is usually different from one person to another.
Question: “Were their actions justified with a truth or a lie?“
