With everything going on in the world right now, how is 1 person having too much power bad for us?
Who gets power is a topic that everyone wants to discuss, but it always leads to a grey area and usually swings towards the government. With many laws passed and citizens complaining about equal rights, the topic hasn’t shifted. As much as we may not like how power is spread now, back then it was much worse. Back in the day, there were people called world leaders, and there would be one man who controlled their whole country. From making one citizen lower than the rest to persecuting anybody they want for any reason they want, world leaders had a lot of power. One such leader even now, is North Korea’s Kim Jong Un. If you hear on the news about what is going on in North Korea, you can tell how the citizens aren’t being treated right and they don’t even get equal rights to do much. If you try to leave North Korea, you will be shot down immediately since Kim Jong Un can do whatever he wants. With power like this, we could see the problems just from North Korea alone. One man’s power is too great for a whole country and sooner or later, it will be their demise.
But the controversy is still on to this day and citizens still battle for their rights. As of now, the government has all of the power. Furthermore, it is divided into 3 branches, Legislative, Executive, and Judicial. All 3 of these branches have the same amount of power and everything that is passed has to go through all of them. This would seem like the most logical option to divide the power, but what about citizens? Citizens could protest to pass a certain law or change something for the better, but it is not guaranteed at all it will be done. But if everyone had the same amount of power, things could get a little of out hand. Not everyone in this world is evil, but there are a hefty amount of people that are. People will do anything to take advantage of power and use it for themselves, which is why having equal power might not be beneficial. Logically speaking, if one man having power or everyone having power doesn’t work, it would be the best move to go towards the middle, which is what the U.S. Government did. Even though there are still complications and complaints, the Power is best handled with multiple people, but not everyone.
