The Underlying Beauty

Many people may ask “Can you find the beauty in here or where you are?” There are many ways to find the beauty between here are there. There may be a large inequality between where you currently are and where you want to be. However, a person should be able to find the beauty in here and accept your current situation. For example, one may compare a small house to a big mansion. The small house provides you shelter the same way a mansion does. It does not matter how much bigger that mansion is, the thing that matters is that it provides you with somewhere to take shelter and keep warm.

This idea can be seen in many different places. One example is, in the novel “All Quiet on the Western Front”, the quote reads, “There it can only be hygienic. Here it is beautiful.” The protagonist refers to nature and the barracks. Paul says that nature can only be hygienic and the barracks can only be beautiful. He says this because he spent so much time in the bathroom trying to avoid the work given to him during his time in the military. Paul was able to find beauty in something that you would never expect. After spending countless hours in the latrines, the protagonist believes that the bathrooms are just as good if not better as being outside. This is because, in the bathrooms, you are able to spend tons of time bonding with your companions while also doing your business, forgetting about everything else. Everybody has such a tight bond since they have seen every part of each other. As for outside the bathrooms, you would not be able to do this because a soldier would have orders and work to take care of. Therefore accepting where you are and finding the beauty in it can be the best thing you can do in a bad situation.
