Power is something that people think is important, something they need, something that can make or break a person. Many people question, “Do you earn this kind of power or are you born into it?” Power is something someone either earns or receives automatically once they are born. Power can be given to good people but sometimes can fall into the hands of bad people that will abuse it. And honestly power is given to everyone, it just depends on how someone uses it. When I think of power I think of how you have the power to control what you do and how it affects others around you. That is power to me. But to others power is something you use to control people or it controls you. There are many different ways to describe power and how it’s used. If I’m being honest, if I was given the power to control people then I’d probably abuse it but at the same time try to make use of it. Knowing you have that kind of power many people will think, “I promise I’ll do good” or “I would never do anything wrong with this power” but in reality we all know no matter how good of a person you are you have abused power at least once if not many times without knowing. Being born into this kind of power most of the time you don’t even know you are abusing it and earning this kind of power is a struggle that once you reach it you start to abuse it. It’s hard not to abuse it but it’s also not hard to make use of it. There are few people who actually make use of that power for good like helping people or the society. But even these people can abuse it and probably have abused it. People in power are usually let off with a slap on the wrist, especially if they are born into it. Power is not something someone should abuse but we do it anyway. Power is something that everyone has but people don’t even know it. You just need to know what to do with it. Power can be an ugly thing and a pretty thing depending how someone uses it.
