Haedoh wasn’t exactly living a happy life. He was sitting on the curb of the street as the rain poured down on him. Not having a single idea of what to do except, cry. There was no one he could go to.
Flashback
It was Tuesday morning, as his girlfriend, Plade called him
“Haedoh, let’s meet up at our spot.”
Smiling to himself, Haedoh responded, “I would love to! I’ll see you in 20 minutes!”
The spot. The place where they first met and where they experienced many firsts together. He quickly gets ready and goes to their spot and saw Plade sitting on a bench.
“Honey, I’m here!” as he sits down next to her but doesn’t receive a response.
Plade slowly looks up at him with an expressionless face.
“Haedoh, let’s break up.”
Haedoh’s face dropped immediately.
“What? You’re joking right?”
As tears start to brim in his eyes.
Plade looks at him seriously and slowly turns away.
“I’m sorry, this isn’t a joke.” ss she gets up to leave and walks away.
Haedoh sat there with so many emotions running through him that he had no idea how to react as he watched her walk away from him. He just couldn’t believe all those happy moments, years, and all those firsts they made together. All gone, just like that. He didn’t realize, he started crying until he felt the tears falling down on his pants.
End of Flashback
He sat there for an hour now, not realizing someone had noticed him from afar. He suddenly felt the raindrops stop, assuming the rainfall had just stopped.
“You’re going to get sick, if you sit here any longer.”
Haedoh looked up suddenly, there was an umbrella over him and a pretty stranger was holding it.
“I’ll be fine, who are you?”
The stranger smiled, “I’m Thaye, come on let’s get you out of this rain.”
As she leads him to her cafe and quickly wraps him into a towel.
He gives her a small smile, “Thank you…”
She nods, “You don’t have to tell me what happened, I witnessed everything.”
Feeling embarrassed, he lowers his head.
She kindly smiles at him and walks over to sit next to him.
“You do know you dodged a bullet with that one right? Your ex-girlfriend brings a new guy to this cafe around once a week.”
Haedoh was in shock, “Oh, I had no idea…”
As his mind starts to pull away from this trance of emotions, “Thank you so much, Thaye.”
He heads home but not without exchanging contact information with Thaye.
Next day, he goes back to her cafe and talks some more and finds out they had a lot in common like their shared taste in music, food, and so much more.
Day after day, he visits her cafe when he has the chance to talk to her. Thaye was an amazing listener and gave even better input. She was a person one could wish for in a friend…or partner.
Months later, he decided to ask her out. And she said, “I love to be your partner!”
During the next few weeks, they had a conversation that would alter his mindset.
She sits him down and says.
“You know I just want to say that no matter what situation you’re going through, I’ll be here for you.”
He realized that’s what has been missing all this time, the feeling of trust and reliability. He has been too reliant on himself, that he caused a riff in his previous relationships and lifestyle in general.
He softly smiles at her, “Thank you”
From this moment on, they lived a happy life and soon went on to get married and even have little versions of themselves knowing they could rely on each other to get through difficult times.
