It was in the year 2087, technology had been so improved. Flying cars, floating cities, robots as workers, and going to the moon was a trip from South California to Las Vegas. Theodore an unordinary boy to his classmate and everyone else. He wasn’t out going, or like stepping foot out of his room. His day consisted of waking up going to school, eating lunch outside in the field by himself, walking home and staying in his room till dinner and eating dinner in his room. He spends most of his time reading manga and drawing. He doesn’t have many friends or technically none at all. It doesn’t really matter much to him since he’s been living like that. Everyone would consider him weird, not like others or too different.
Walking home from school Theodore noticed there was a glowing butterfly landed on his nose. He freaked out and startled. The butterfly flying around him, as if wanting to tell him something, Theodore stopped and then followed the butterfly to this forest part. Then in the bush there was a rocket that was pretty much really damaged by crashing. Inside there was something green and purple. Theodore ran to it and it was this round, chubby and green.. ALIEN. Theodore screamed and woke up the green alien. “Hey, can you be quiet? I’m trying to sleep here.” Theodore now was even more scared he was on the ground and basically frozen. The green alien jumped off the rocket and started walking towards Theodore. “Who are you? Where am I?” The green alien asked. Theodore was giving the answer and then suddenly there were two robot soldiers walking as if they were trying to find someone. Theodore grabbed the green alien and both hid in a bush. “Shh I think they’re probably gone now, I don’t know what you are yet but you seem friendly. I’ll take you home and clean up your wounds.” Theodore stuffed the alien inside his backpack and then left a breathing hole for him. Going inside his house, his mom was asking him where he was since it’s almost six now. He just told her that he was at a friend’s house, and rushed to his room. Leaving both his mom and dad shocked. “MOM WHERE’S THE CLEANING WOUNDS SUPPLIES??” He found the cleaning supplies and started treating the wounds for the alien. “Ouwchie, it hurts.” The alien said, Theodore trying his best to do it lightly, “ It’s okay you got this, it’ll hurt worse if you don’t clean it up. Do you have a name for a little guy?” Theodore asked. The alien shook his head no. “Moe, that’ll be your name now. My name is Theodore!” Moe has such a bright smile and then suddenly his stomach growls. “You’re hungry Moe?” Moe nodded. Theodore ran down the stairs and there was some fried chicken his mom made for dinner. “THANK YOU MOM!” Leaving both of his parents shocked again. “This boy is acting weird today” His dad chuckled. “Just puberty honey.”
Moe looked at the fried chicken confused on what this yellow crunchy thing is. He took a bite of it while Theodore looked at him. He took a bite, another bite, another one. Next second it was all gone. “You must be really hungry,” Theodore said and chuckled. Moe replied. “I never was fed this good before my last master would starve me if I didn’t do a good job. Do you have more Theo?” Theo? Theodore has never been given a nickname before, it’s kinda nice to have one. “Yeah let me go get it for you.” Moe continued to eat the chicken while Theodore did his homework. “Do you have any friends Theo? You’re an amazing person. I know you have so many!” Moe said. Theodore just laughed, and told Moe how he never had any friends, because of how weird and unordinary he is. The truth is Theodore always wanted a friend but whenever he tried to he would chickened out and wont have the courage to do it. Moe jumped on Theodore’s lap and gave him a hug. “It’s okay, I know what it feels like to be lonely since I was too. I will be your friend and protect you.” Moe’s hug is strangely comforting leaving both falling asleep on the desk. His mom walked inside his room, put a blanket on him and left him a kiss on the head.
Moe is an imaginary friend of Theodore. When people get lonely they tend to find things that comfort them. Imaginary friends are one of the things people seek comfort out of since no one is there for them while they need comfort.
