Chadwick Nephele was born in the City of Clouds and was always light on his feet. He found passion in music after his school teacher introduced him to a piano and it has been his dream to perform on a big stage. There’s just one problem…he has stage fright. From the beginning of Cirrus elementary school to Nimbus High, he has always been alone, no friends to eat lunch with him or talk to him. That is until he met Skylar Stratus. Skylar Stratus is the popular girl at Nimbus High. All the girls want to be like her and all the boys want her. It all began on a rainy day, Chadwick pushed to a corner, his headphones ripped off his head, and his backpack thrown into the soaked floor. Feeling defeated, Chadwick sat on the floor and he stayed there. The dripping sounds of water closed in and a tap on his shoulder took him by surprise. There she was. Skylar Stratus and his gloomy backpack. Shocked that Skylar was in front of him, he immediately started to apologize for something he didn’t do. She said, “No problem, don’t let those guys get to you.” His heart beat raised. Dun….Dun…Dun..Dun.Dun.
Chadwick went home that day and continued to write songs in his studio that his parents built for him.

The following day, Chadwick was walking down the hall when he heard the sound of a violin escaping out the crack of the music room door. Slowly and gently, he opened the door, peering inside just to take a quick peek. Skylar, fully immersed into the music, continued to play. Chadwick smiled. His cheeks felt as if they would never drop. He leaned on the door too hard causing himself to fall into the room. Skylar flinched and screamed. Chadwick, before he said sorry, said, “That was amazing! I didn’t know you played violin.” She replied, “No one knows that I love music, everyone just expects me to be a stuck-up popular girl.” Chadwick’s day couldn’t get any better, but it did. They sat in silence for a little until Chadwick broke the ice. “I know this is sudden, but I love to make music and I would like to invite you to my studio not because I like you, but because I think you are a very good violinist and I think you would be amazing to play one of my songs,” he said with a rushing tone. That was the first time he’s talked to anyone at Nimbus High on his own. Thrown aback, Skylar was hesitant, but she realized that maybe this is her chance to finally express her passion and eventually said yes.

Ding-Dong. Skylar arrives at Chadwick’s house. Nervous yet excited, Chadwick opens the door and lets her in. He brought her to his studio where he was most comfortable to be himself. Straight away, he allowed her to listen to sample songs that he made himself and she complimented his vocals overall. He reveals that he has perfect pitch which was surprising since Skylar also has perfect pitch. A similarity. Together, they could produce any kind of songs they wanted. Could turn into did. They spent all of their time working together through Nimbus High and eventually made some hit songs that were recognized by one of the biggest artists of their time, Mizuko Hanagaki. Then, the sad news poured down on them. Mizuko only wanted to meet Chadwick because of his outstanding vocals. Supportive of it, Skylar told Chadwick to go to Upbeat City and meet him, to follow his dreams.

The day Chadwick left, Skylar cried enough to cause a tsunami. It was also her dream to perform on a big stage. She would call Chadwick every now and then and he would tell her about how his dreams came true. He would say how nervous he was to go on stage with Mizuko for the first time. Sniffle. It hit Chadwick, he couldn’t tell for sure, but he could definitely hear Skylar’s sadness through the phone. At that moment, he made a decision and packed his things and headed straight to the cloudport. Without telling anyone, not Mizuko, not Skyler, not his parents, he came back to the City of Clouds. There was somewhere he needed to be. Ding-Dong. Mr. Stratus answered the door. “Hello, Sir, my name is Chadwick. Is Skylar here by any chance? I really need to talk to her, just please let her know that I’ll be waiting for her out here.” Mr. Stratus walks into Skylar’s room. “Your friend Chadwick is outside, he said he’s waiting for you.” Skylar’s eyes widened and she bolted out of her room as fast as lightning. She stopped him from saying any words and jumped into his arms.

They’ve both realized that becoming big in the music industry was only a benefit that came with the journey. Their true goal was making music together. “I never got to tell you how I felt. So here I am. I like you a lot, Skylar Stratus.” “I do too!” That’s all Chadwick needed to hear. Time passed by and they both grew older together and continued to make music. Eventually, they both even got signed by a company and became global stars side by side with each other. Chadwick had everything he wished for.
