Last month, an unidentified creature appeared on the shores of Washington State. It was unfathomably massive. Taking up the majority of the beach. It appeared to be a bipedal creature with no arms and a featureless face. This creature seemed to have rabbit ears on its head, despite its mostly human appearance. Its most jarring feature is where its arms would be, It appeared to be small wires that pumped something into itself, turning its torso and head gold despite its otherwise purple color.
Almost immediately, the government completely seized the area. Blocking off every location that could get a good sightling on the creature. It closed down the airspace nearby. No matter what, this thing could not be known to the general public.
Soon after it’s discovery, the creature (To here on be called ‘The Rabbit’) was cut into several pieces for easier carrying, and shipped off to Henry Edwards National Superlab (H.E.N.S.) for further research using military ships disguised as civilian cargo ships.
The task was given to Dr. Eleanor Jekyll, head of the biology department of H.E.N.S., and Dr. Samuel Hyde, head of physiology at the lab. They were told to analyze the creature’s body to tell whether it’s some kind of prehistoric creature, alien, or any other form of anomaly.
The following transcript is a conversation between the two of them, and the primary director of H.E.N.S., Dr. William Coleman. Jekyll and Hyde were not prepared for what was happening, and this thing was suddenly arriving at their building.
Date: 4/16/34 Time:22:47
(Hyde enters the room)
Coleman: Great, Sam, get over here, now. Something’s happening.
Hyde: Cole? Everything o-(Jekyll enters the room)
Jekyll: Cole! What the hell is going on outside!?
Coleman: I’m just as much in the dark as you. I was hoping you’d find this out from me, but I guess I told you guys too late.
Jekyll: Duh! My lab is being cleared out to make room for that thing.
Hyde: What thing?
Coleman: Look, right now whatever the -Explicit- this thing is, it’s your top priority.
Hyde: What damn thing, Cole?
Jekyll: What even is this thing?
Coleman: You have to find that o-
Hyde: Cole! Ellen! What the -Explicit- is going on!?
(Coleman and Jekyll look at each other)
Jekyll: Look…Sam, you need to see this, come into my lab.
Hyde: Sure. This better be important.
(Jekyll, Hyde, and Coleman all make their way into Ellen’s lab. Where they see a massive purple rabbit ear.)
Hyde: …What exactly am I looking at?
Coleman: My guess, alien life. At the very least something we haven’t seen in a long time. I was contacted maybe an hour ago about all of this, and that we’d need to make an emergency analysis of something that got beached on the edge of Ocean City, Washington. I’ll try to get as many people I can reassigned to this instantly.
Hyde: (No response, simply looking at the Rabbit’s ear.)
Coleman: Sam? Are you even listening to-
Hyde: Whatever it is, I need you to leave me and Ellen to it right now.
Jekyll: Sam-
Hyde: We can figure this out, just give us a second, ok?
Coleman: Got it, I’m in my office. (Coleman walks out of Jekyll’s lab.)
Jekyll: Damn, you gave orders to Cole? Guy’s your superior.
Hyde: He knows we can get it done though. Him sending us support is basically just a formality. Anyway, you have any theories on what it is? I mean, I assume it’s some kind of giant rabbit.
Jekyll: I saw some other parts of it out there. It has a featureless human face. I guess it’s some kind of alien, like Cole.
Hyde: …That’s…
Jekyll: That’s what?
Hyde: How similar is this face to a human’s?
Jekyll: Well, by ‘featureless’ mainly I mean it doesn’t have eyes or a mouth, but there are indents where those would be. It seems scarily accurate to a human’s face,
Hyde: Then there’s a good chance it’s not from another world. I know evolution tends to make some creatures look similar but the chance that this thing has an almost perfect recreation of a human face, would be…unlikely.
Jekyll: So…what? Are you saying this thing’s always been on the planet? Just hiding.
Hyde: I have no clue. I have no idea where this thing could’ve come from. I guess…it just needs more studying. Let’s go.
Jekyll: Sure thing.
(The two then dawn protective suits, and begin to analyze the Rabbit’s ear.)
