Why should you go against discrimination?

One of the things that have come to my mind as I read They Called Us Enemy is that in this story, where the author shares his experience as a person living in a Japanese American internment camp, it shows a reminder that you should be standing up against discrimination. The reason why you should is so that you can create a better future because discriminating against people who were unjustly detained is cruel and unfair to the rest of the people. No one should have the experience of being imprisoned in Japanese American internment camps during World War II. The things happening in They Called Us Enemy show lots of scenes where they depict situations viewed from the perspective of someone who has experienced these situations and how they have been forced to leave their homes and be moved somewhere else without their own consent.

Reading this book and learning about and also fighting the AAPI hate and racism in America is making me question a lot of things. In the article for the AAPI resources I read it mentioned that many Americans had seen newcomers from Japan as a threat to the american standard of living and basically prohibited Asians from owning land or holding jobs in many industries. The US government forcibly relocated more than 110,00 men, women, and children of Japanese ancestry living on the west coast of the United States to concentration camps. We should all have the right to be treated equally, regardless of our race and discrimination occurs when a person is unable to enjoy their human rights. Which is why we should all go against discrimination
