Activity #8 Write a response to anything from the module Last activity- comic page “behind the scenes”

Throughout my life, I have always enjoyed comic books. When the time came that we began to go more in-depth into these comic books in my class I was excited. I have never been interested in the story the comic book portrayed. I have always been more interested in the interesting art style. The comic book art style has a lot of different interpretations but usually sticks to a realistic cartoonish version of characters. For the piece I wanted to recreate, I chose this impressive black and white photo of Galactus, a character I have personally liked for some time.

(please excuse the quality, there was a very select amount of images I could find with the exact image I recreated)

I liked how interesting this adaptation of Galactus was because he looked completely different in the previous images and interpretations I have seen of him. In the depictions of Galactus, he is a very tall man (spanning at roughly 28 feet) and usually towering over buildings of the sorts. Living up to the name, Galactus is seen here acting as a black hole, forcing the planents with gravitational pull to go closer into the black hole that Galactus is. For my interpretation of this I got rid of the backround and the color for the character. I kept the planets, but added small little stick figures that were fictional people floating around in space getting sucked into this black hole. This piece took me around five hours with trying to formulate an idea of what to recreate, sketching, and outlining specific parts of the drawing in a thin black pen. At the very top of the image, originally there was someone elses name, which I replaced with my teachers name and my name at the top.

This is the image that I did, recreating the original image seen previously in the blog post.
