You know, life is kinda like…
A road trip.
Except you have recently eaten super spicy food, and you are currently driving in the middle of nowhere with your stomach burning, and the nearest gas station is an hour away…
You have to battle fiercely against periodic stomach aches, holding it in, until they seemingly fade away into nothingness. For a moment you are relieved that they have subsided, but you know—only for now. You know well that they will come back to haunt your car ride, and you’d have to endure another period of suffering as you pray for the gas station to appear in the distance…
But for now, you must not think about that and take this time to relax.
This is life—there are periods of times where you suffer, and periods of times of peace. It’s a constant drive between the hardships that you have to bear through, and OK times. In between the chaos, sometimes you will arrive at a gas station to take a break from everything, taking a moment to reset and refuel.
It’s a journey… with a stomach ache.
But why is it this way? Well, you chose to eat spicy food. Perhaps you were even aware of the consequences, and yet, you decided to eat it anyway. Why would you do that? Because it’s worth it. The flavor of life is worth it, even though it has some side-effects you will have to deal with in the future. Yes, stomach aches are intense, and you feel like you are holding on with your life to not poop your pants. But it’s worth it. Spice makes the journey better. We like spice, and life is spicy.
I think life is spicy enough for me.

Funny Story:
A close friend of mine named this type of stomach ache “fiarrhea” (fie⋅er⋅ee⋅ah). It’s a more, well, burning variant of diarrhea.
