I’m Lauren Hyland, a high school student who is navigating the struggles that come with teenage years, and I think you should read the ever-relatable story “Emotions Explained with Buff Dudes” which manages to capture what everyone is silently thinking. Through a multitude of situations, this story demonstrates anxiety, anger, happiness, and all other emotions we go through.

I was completely unaware of how common my thoughts and worries were until this story. Somehow I have been able to build sympathy for and relate to a generic character who is noticing all his emotions, as well as what they impact in his life. This story manages to portray heavy ideas in an incredibly comical way. Sadness and Anger have never been so funny. If you are a student, teacher, banker, chef, or person, you will find tips in this story that will help you win the long game of life. Silly explanations on how to be more positive and overcome the difficulties life hands us are common points throughout the novel.

Recieving no less than a 4.2 out of 5 on many different rating sites, it’s obvious how many enjoy this book, including me. The humor when discussing emotions such as sadness is not something I’m used to, but it is something I think everyone would love. This less akward approach to discussing moments we all go through, and may not be super proud of, has made me more comfortable with what I feel and I am positive it will do the same for those who read it.
