Have you ever felt like you don’t belong? Maybe you think you’re not social enough as a person? I totally recommend you to read a graphic novel called “Quiet Girl in a Noisy World” by Debbie Tung. This narrative is a wholesome, yet relatable comic that illustrates a girl’s experience as an introvert living in an extroverted society. Peer pressure, self-esteem, and self-confidence were prominent topics that were mentioned in this comic. As an introvert myself, I was able to relate to almost every scenario the girl has been through in the comic. It made me feel like I wasn’t the only person going through these thoughts and feelings. Seeing her character develop over time was also super fun, as she was able to accept who she was.
I also thoroughly enjoyed the illustrations of the comic and in my opinion, it made the comic much more enjoyable. Being able to see the girl’s experiences through the illustrations while reading the dialogue was super entertaining, and I was able to finish reading in only half an hour.
This is a comic that I’d 100% read again. It wasn’t awkward or boring, just funny and empathetic.
